RAEV is an indicator that measures the level of risk generated by a vehicle while driving. Its name comes from the Spanish-language acronym for Risk, Accident, Excess and Speed. Using GPS technology and intelligent maps, the system detects speeding and quantifies the associated risk, evaluating aspects such as: variations in speed, repetitiveness, and even the differential over the permitted limit.
But it doesn’t stop there: it analyzes the whole picture, such as how long the driver goes over the speed limit, the time of day (if at night, more care is required!), the type of road, the characteristics of the vehicle and even the load it is carrying. It’s like having an expert co-pilot who says: “Hey, slow down so we can all get there in one piece!”
With this fresh, real-time information, our transportation and safety teams can act fast: correcting what’s wrong, training drivers and encouraging habits that make us invincible on the road. And the results? Impressive! When we started, the risk level of our fleet was 13.53%… but today we’ve brought it down to just 3%! That means less worry and more peace of mind for everyone.
