SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition recognizes workers helping to write its history

• The company recognized 370 employees for their valuable track records, highlighting their commitment and passion.

To commemorate International Labor Day, SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition held recognition ceremonies at its main operations and offices in María Elena, Antofagasta, Santiago, Nueva Victoria and Tocopilla. These events were organized to honor employees who have completed between five and 50 years of service to the company, highlighting their commitment, professionalism and dedication over the years.

Atilio Narváez celebrated five decades with the organization and shared: “I am thankful for the stability and everything this company has taught me. It has united my family—my dear wife, my children, my granddaughter—and I am very proud of that. I can say that the best thing about working here is the freedom it gives you to innovate and make changes. This is a great company. It has a development record and history behind it that always motivates you to try to do more.”

On the other hand, production superintendent Patricia Ibáñez pointed out: “The best thing about working at SQM is the work environment, that you always feel support from your coworkers. It’s a family in the end because often I spend more time at work than at home. I never thought I would be here for 30 years. It has come naturally and I am sure I will end my career here.”

The ceremonies were attended by more than one thousand people, with 370 workers being recognized for their careers in the company. Each honoree received a commemorative award from the company’s leaders, who personally thanked them for the dedication and passion they show every day.

“Work is one of the most important things people have, so we came together to commemorate and recognize our entire team. This is a story of overcoming obstacles and making progress, and that is what we want to highlight at these ceremonies,” said Pablo Altimiras, CEO of SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition.

In addition, Rodrigo Jasen, VP People and Culture, emphasized: “We want to recognize all those relevant milestones, responsibilities and achievements from this year and, of course, highlight the commitment and work of our colleagues celebrating work anniversaries.”

SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition stands out for its commitment to human development and sustainability, fundamental pillars of its responsible business strategy. Through these ceremonies, the company seeks to strengthen ties with its employees and recognize their valuable contribution to the growth and success of the organization.
