La Política de Abastecimiento Responsable para Proveedores de SQM tiene como objetivo principal asegurar que toda la cadena de suministro de la empresa opere bajo estándares éticos, sostenibles y respetuosos de los derechos humanos. SQM busca extender su compromiso con los Principios Rectores de la ONU sobre Empresas y Derechos Humanos a sus proveedores, promoviendo prácticas que vayan más allá del cumplimiento legal mínimo. Esta política establece criterios que los proveedores deben incorporar progresivamente, incluyendo evaluaciones, auditorías, gestión de riesgos y mecanismos de denuncia, con el fin de prevenir abusos, garantizar condiciones laborales dignas y proteger el medio ambiente.
El Código de Conducta para Socios Comerciales de SQM establece los principios éticos y de cumplimiento que deben seguir todos los terceros que colaboran con la compañía, como proveedores, contratistas y socios estratégicos. Este código promueve el respeto a los derechos humanos, la no discriminación, la protección del medio ambiente, la salud y seguridad laboral, la libre asociación, y la prohibición del trabajo infantil y forzoso. Además, exige actuar con integridad, rechazar toda forma de corrupción, cumplir con las leyes de libre competencia y registrar adecuadamente las transacciones financieras, siendo condición esencial para mantener una relación comercial con SQM.
