SQMentors promotes the professional development of students in Antofagasta

As part of the 2025 tour to promote the SQMentors program, SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition visited Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) and Universidad de Antofagasta (UA) to present this initiative, which seeks to introduce young people completing their final year of studies to the job market.
The event attracted many students from various academic disciplines, who were able to learn in depth about the program’s objectives and have their questions answered in a friendly, interactive setting.
The event was led by Pedro Pablo Rivera, HRBP and Deputy Manager of Talent Attraction and Diversity, and Bárbara Pacheco, Head of Diversity and Employer Branding at SQM Iodine Plant Nutrition.
“We have visited more than 11 universities on the SQMentors tour, where we have been able to share the benefits of the program and information about our company, reaching the students at these universities,” commented Pedro Pablo Rivera.
During the event, Mauricio Torres, Superintendent of Processes at SQM, shared his experience as a mentor and highlighted the importance of this type of program for professional development in the mining industry.
The SQMentors program seeks to enhance key skills such as leadership, effective communication and emotional intelligence in young professionals, through personalized mentoring and practical experiences that help them enter the workforce in a constantly evolving industry.
