Learning About Mining Through Play

How do we spark curiosity about science and mining in younger generations? In Calama, the answer came through play. During a new edition of Playing to Be a Miner, hundreds of children had the opportunity to explore the world of mining through hands-on experiences designed to encourage learning through discovery.

At SQM interactive stand, participants learned in an engaging and entertaining way about the properties of iodine and nitrates, discovering the science behind processes that are part of non-metallic mining. As part of Mining Month, the activity brought together knowledge, innovation, and fun, creating a unique learning experience for children and their families.
